When Prue's little brother, Mac, gets taken by crows into the Impassable Wilderness Prue and her classmate, Curtis, have to go into the wood to get Mac. They meet the Dowager Governess with her coyotes and the Bandit King with his bandits. Together they find Mac.

Not sure if you knew Mia, but the author of Wildwood is actually in a band called "The Decemberists" and his wife illustrated the novel. It's something they were working on for nearly 12 years!
